Installation detailsHow much of the job you want us to do
This is the biggest single factor in your price.
- Roof Install Only — roof installation only, no internal plastering or finishing. We fit the custom Colorbond flashing and skylight into the roof. Best for builders running their own program, and for swapping a skylight where the shaft is already there.
- Complete Installation — the whole job. We frame the shaft, install and flash the skylight, then plaster and set the internal opening so it is ready for paint.
- Dome Skylight Replacement — replacing an existing dome skylight with a new Keylite or Velux of the same size, using the opening you already have, with a custom Colorbond flashing kit manufactured in-house. The reason we swap acrylic domes out comes down to glazing: a dome is a single skin of about 3mm plastic, so it does almost nothing to slow heat transfer, and the room runs hot in summer and cold in winter. A Keylite or Velux unit is double glazed, which keeps the summer heat out and the winter warmth in.
- Unsure? Contact Us — stuck on the very first question? This skips the rest of the quote and just asks for your details and your question, so you can get an answer from us instead of guessing.
Suburb / addressYour suburb is all we need
Your suburb confirms you are in our service area and lets us work out travel. The street address is optional — leave it blank if you would rather not share it yet.
Skylight brandKeylite or Velux — or ask us
We install both. Not sure which suits your place? The Unsure which brand? link skips the rest of the quote and simply asks for your details and your question, so you can get an answer from us rather than guessing your way through the form.
Roof detailsWhat lets us price the job accurately
Your answers here decide the flashing kit we manufacture and the access gear we need on the day:
- Storey — single, two, or three-plus.
- Roof material — Colorbond or tile. There is an examples link if you are not sure what you have.
- Roof pitch — flat, pitched or high pitched, with picture examples if you need them.
- Distance to the ridgeline — roughly how far the skylight sits from the peak of the roof, in metres. It is a technical one, so there is an Unsure option — we then price on a 4m buffer, which is usually more than the real distance, so the figure generally comes down on inspection day.
Skylight detailsType, size, blinds, and doing more than one
The skylights themselves. There are four types:
- Fixed (non-opening) — light only. Best for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms.
- Manual opening — opened by hand, so ideal for attic rooms and anywhere within easy reach.
- Electric opening — opens at the touch of a button.
- Solar opening — the same, powered by a solar panel instead of mains wiring.
If you want ventilation as well as light, electric or solar is the one — they earn their keep in bathrooms and kitchens, and in bedrooms for fresh air. Blinds can be added to any of the four types, so you can control the light in a bedroom or media room without giving up the skylight.
Doing more than one? Use Add another skylight so the quote covers the lot — and it works out cheaper per skylight, with savings of up to 25%. This step also asks whether you would like the internal opening sanded and painted as part of the job, or you would rather handle that yourself.
Contact detailsWhere your quote goes
The most important step, because without it nothing reaches you. Your details are what let us send the quote through and get in touch to organise the inspection. Name, email and phone — double-check the email address, since that is where your copy lands. Your price appears on screen as soon as you submit.
